President Trump and first lady Melania Trump are scheduled to take part in a bill signing Monday afternoon for legislation aimed at protecting people from non-consensual sexualized content posted online.
The first lady has been active in pushing the Take it Down Today Act, which would punish those who post deepfakes, among other content. It was passed by the House and sent to Trump’s desk late last month in a 409-22 vote; just two Republicans voted against it.
Melania Trump attended the president’s joint address to Congress this year with some of the young women who had advocated for action by Congress on the issue.
President Trump and the first lady will take part in the signing ceremony at the Rose Garden on Monday at 3 p.m. EDT.
