Career in Government
Patel’s career in government began earnestly during his time at the Department of Justice, where he served as a terrorism prosecutor. He successfully led numerous investigations against groups like Al-Qaida and ISIS. His notable skills in this area earned him a position as the Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council (NSC), where he played a significant role in executing President Donald Trump’s counterterrorism initiatives.
After serving as principal deputy to the Acting Director of National Intelligence, Patel moved on to become the Chief of Staff to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller. In these capacities, he oversaw several critical missions, including the successful operations against high-profile terrorist leaders and the management of sensitive intelligence programs.
