Jasmine Crockett Scorches GOP's 'Efficiency' Talk With A Blistering Trump Figure

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) on Tuesday ripped Republicans for not criticizing President Donald Trump’s golfing habits all while backing a push to cut “wasteful” spending via the so-called Department of Government Efficiency.

“If we are gonna talk about efficiency and worry about some solar panels, whatever, let’s talk about the fact that as of March 30, Trump’s golfing has cost us approximately $26 million,” said Crockett in remarks at a congressional DOGE subcommittee hearing.

“And the last time I checked, we’re not getting anything in return for that. So, I will get back on my remarks, but I just wanted to point out that maybe we need to talk about the president and his golfing habits.”

Trump, whose golf outings have now cost U.S. taxpayers over $30 million in his second term, traveled to Florida this past weekend to hit the green at his Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, only to later brag about his win in the Senior Club Championship.

Prior to his 2016 election win, Trump routinely criticized Barack Obama for playing golf, and once claimed he wouldn’t be playing much of the sport were he to take the White House.

On Tuesday, Crockett continued to dig into the president for skipping out on a dignified transfer of the remains of four U.S. Army officers killed in a training exercise in Lithuania, opting instead to play golf and speak at a $1 million-a-head fundraising dinner for his super PAC at Mar-a-Lago this weekend.

“He has decided that he wanted to play games while the rest of us are really trying to make sure that we can serve the American people,” Crockett declared.

Moments earlier in the hearing, Crockett stressed that the Trump administration is “hellbent” on firing federal workers, engaging in “fire sales” of government buildings as well as “lighting” several programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid on fire.

“Instead, what we need to light on fire are Trump’s tariffs. In fact, we could probably go a little bit further and fire this incompetent administration,” she said.
