Sorry Michelle Obama, but it seems that Democrats are rethinking the concept of, “When they go low, we go high.”
Many left-leaning users on X, formerly Twitter, have felt that the tone of the Democratic National Committee’s account has been pretty ineffective since President Donald Trump took office in January. Basically, many feel that the DNC’s account lacks bite during a chaotically unsettling time in American history — opting to post extremely long bullet-pointed lists of their accomplishments or posting a screenshot featuring dozens of tiny images of House Republicans who voted for some of Trump’s policies with flaccid captions, like “shameful.”
But it seems that the DNC’s account finally grew some teeth Tuesday.

In response to Trump’s cringe-worthy attempt to help Elon Musk and his plummeting Tesla sales by parking a parade of Musk’s electric vehicles in front of the White House and slinging each “Tesler” to Americans like he was a car salesman late on his alimony payment during a Memorial Day sale, the DNC decided to get deliciously petty.
Retweeting a post that featured images of a Tesla and Cybertruck parked in front of the White House, the DNC delivered a perfect three-word burn:
Needless to say, many liberals on the platform loved the blunt jab and expressed wanting to see more of this low-brow but ball-busting energy.
It seems the DNC has gotten the hint, and some of its posts since the “ugly ass truck” post on Tuesday have gotten a tiny bit spicier.
Liberals on X aren’t the only ones who are concerned about Democrats’ lukewarm responses to egregious decisions made by the Trump administration.
In February, Jon Stewart called out the party for “fucking trotting” out the uncharismatic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer “every time Trump traverses into the unreal.”
“He’s not good at this,” Stewart said. “What is the decision-making process here?”
Imagining a meeting among Democratic operatives, Stewart sarcastically continued, “Hey, who should we get out there to effectively battle one of the most savvy presidential media manipulators in history? Oh, I don’t know, how about Schumer? He’s uninteresting, but at least he’s monotone. Oh wait, and Chuck, before you go out there, you look too young! Put on these readers and lower them on your nose. Perfect!”
