President Trump will speak before National Guard troops at Selfridge National Guard base in Harrison Township, Mich., on Tuesday afternoon.
His remarks come as the president marks his first 100 days in office, which includes executive actions that have weighed heavily on the military and scrutiny over Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s use of Signal chats to share attack information.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is also expected to attend. The Democratic governor found herself in headlines earlier this month after she made a surprise appearance at the White House. A photo from the event, published by The New York Times, also showed Whitmer appearing to cover her face from cameras, which drew more scrutiny.
Trump’s speech is scheduled to begin at 4:10 p.m. EDT.
