The bizarre bromance between Elon Musk and Donald Trump is apparently over ― and the ramifications are being hilariously felt on social media.
But their working relationship took a hit this week after Musk repeatedly criticized the thin-skinned president’s so-called Big Beautiful Bill.
Trump even suggested the rupture could be permanent on Thursday.
“Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” he said. “He hasn’t said bad things about me personally, but I’m sure that’ll be next. But I’m very disappointed in Elon. I’ve helped Elon a lot.”
The tiff between two emotionally immature billionaires inspired unprecedented social media snark ― including from the president himself.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform to declare that “the easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts.”
He added, “I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”
And, yes, people had thoughts. Lots and lots of thoughts.
But some were skeptical Musk and Trump were really at odds.
Legal analyst Elie Mystal pointed out that the whole feud could just be a bit stolen from TV wrestling.
Meanwhile, influencer Ashley St. Clair, who says Musk is the father of her child, offered to give “breakup advice” to the president.
